The Lincoln Lawyer

Book/film List

Law is a game of wits in which talented pros play all the angles in search of victory. At least, that’s the message of Michael Connelly’s legal thriller “The Lincoln Lawyer.” The plot is factually improbable, but that doesn’t stop it from grabbing the reader’s attention from the first page and never letting go.

The real treat is Connelly’s portrait of L.A. criminal defense attorney Mickey Haller who never makes a move or asks a question without an eye on its impact upon the final disposition. Haller is the incarnation of lawyerly savvy and guile.

They made a good movie of the book starring Matthew Mcconaughey, but if you want to really understand the inner workings of Haller’s inventive and devious mind, I highly recommend the book.
